Einsamkeit: Halwende - The First Episode
A downloadable game for Windows
Desperation Leads to Travesty
One day, twelve individuals receive a mysterious invitation to a game at a motel, the prize of which is something none of those invited can refuse—their much anticipated escape from the unfairness life has dealt them. However, who sent these invitations? How do they know their deepest desires, or their murky pasts?
Einsamkeit: Halwende, a supernatural horror drama, will follow these twelve victims of life’s unfairness as they struggle to survive a game where the reward of a better life may not be worth the loss of their only one.
This is not a game for children or the faint of heart
Einsamkeit: Halwende contains sensitive topics that may trigger some and are not appropriate for younger audiences.
Features
You Choose the Game
There’s more than one way for the mastermind's game to unfold. Make choices that can alter the story drastically not only in this episode, but the episodes to come, creating a vast branch of different endings by the final episode.
Complete Unpredictability
A death game story would be a little generic nowadays if there was a main character who was guaranteed to live, even in the canon ending... so the story is told in multiple perspectives, giving everyone proportionate importance.
Multiple Styles of Horror
Einsamkeit: Halwende is described as a supernatural horror drama because those are the main horror elements, but there’s also psychological horror, slasher, body, & monster horror! (Not all types appear in the first episode.)
A Unique and Diverse Cast
Einsamkeit: Halwende’s story would be bland if all the characters were similar, so you’ll see all kinds of folks from different strokes: a nice mixture of races, ages, social classes, sexual orientations, etc.
Ainsley:
An employee at Motel 7 Heaven who wants nothing more than the end of human suffering. He only means well, but due to his lack of social skills he is often seen as creepy.
Nyx:
A law student at the local college. Ever since high school she's claimed to have been stalked by a former foster sibling, but not only does no one believe her, no one seems to remember the atrocities the child committed when he stayed with her family as well.
Christie:
Nyx's roommate and one of her best friends. She's a very sociable girl who anyone can get along with, yet no one truly knows her or her past.
Layle:
A good friend of Christie and Nyx. He's at their school studying music theory, but because he comes from a well-off family it’s often wondered why he ended up at no-name school since he could've gone anywhere with his parents' coin.
Asreal:
The only therapist in town. He has somewhat of a god complex and must always have control of any situation. As the therapist of some of the other characters he comes off as the one who holds the most standing in the game.
Lily:
A woman who has Asreal in the palm of her hand. She goes to him to ease her family who believes she has a strong addiction to sex, but there's more to her than anyone could fathom.
Dolores:
Known all over town for her insanity, Dolores is a woman beyond any salvation. She wants to kill Asreal more than anything for reasons that made him quit the asylum he worked at before starting his own practice.
Travis:
As one of Dolores' twin sons, Travis has been bullied relentlessly for as long as he can remember because of his mother's reputation. He and his brother Trystin—who've freshly turned eighteen—want nothing more than to leave town, and with it their suffering.
Devon:
Also known as Super Remix, Devon is a boy who believes himself to be a hero of justice and will punish anyone he deems evil without the slightest hesitation.
Erburus:
An eccentric amnesiac who knows nothing of his life beyond two years ago. He only ever speaks in esoterics, and for some reason has an obsession with Ainsley.
Toni:
One of the only two contestants who knows a bit about what's going on. She's as calculated and calm as she is beautiful, and she won't stop until she gets what she wants.
Cecil:
Toni's only friend, and the only other person who has any idea of what's happening. He's a hacker who makes his living by syphoning money and valuable information from the upper class, though gives most of his earnings to those in need.
Thomas:
A boy much smarter than his age and appearance would suggest. He parades his mother around on a leash, as she can do nothing but drool and speak infant-like jargon.

This was an amazing first part. I've been mulling over and rereading it several times since I bought it, and I can't wait for the next installment to come out. I'm not usually unsettled or afraid when I experience horror stories, but there have been a couple of nights where moments from this first episode have stuck with me. The characters are interesting, and the story so far is engaging; not to mention the unique and wonderful art in the game. I'm excited for the next installment.
Very fascinating and a little confusing. Not what I was expecting very interested to see where it goes though.
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed it enough to look forward to more.
